Morning Light on Squam Lake-Original Watercolor

Always before doing a larger more refined painting in the studio, I do several small sketches in pencil, ink, watercolor or a combination of the three.  These little gems help me capture the ever changing light far better than a photograph.  This watercolor sketch was done in the early morning on Squam Lake in Holderness, NH.  The still water and shimmering light is typical of the early morning hours on the lakes in central New Hampshire.
